Here at Topcoder, we take copyright seriously!

Topcoder is a crowdsourcing marketplace, susceptible to misuse of copyrighted work of original authors by the community members. However, Topcoder strives to protect original work of authors against any misuse. In doing do so, we have our guidelines in place conforming with Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 1998.

Protecting Your Creative Works

In the United States, copyright law is established by federal law, which provides legal protection for original works of authorship, including literary, musical, and artistic works, as well as software and other digital creations. A copyrighted work is protected as soon as it is created, and registration with the Copyright Office is not required to establish copyright protection.

Report the Infringement

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been infringed upon, you can report the infringement using the Takedown Form. We will investigate reported materials at the earliest. Please note, a report alleging infringement must come from the rights owner or someone authorized to report on the owner’s behalf (for example: attorney, agent).

What do you need to report Copyright Infringement?

Please include the following information when reporting a case of copyright infringement:
•  Content
•  If you know it’s content owner, creator, publisher or distributor.
•  Location of the infriinging content using specific links.
•  Example: General URL like www.topcoder.com is not a suitable link, please be more specific like: www.topcoder.com/infringing_content/infringing content_title?chptr_12234.aspx
•  The original copyrighted work which is being infringed. It is can be done by providing a public URL of the original work or by uploading relevant documents of the original work.

Who can file a DMCA Takedown?

•  Content Creators/Owners
•  Copyright Owners
•  Content Publishers or Distributors (w/ permission of the content or copyright owners)
•  NFT Owners
•  Subject contained within the content and published without permission (special considerations may be required)
